Yup, we’re still here.  MarineTech was here this morning, this time with a diver to inspect the rudder from the water.  It would appear that the noise is coming from a large washer located on the rudder shaft between the top of the rudder and the hull.  Does not seem serious.  While the diver was here, I had him replace the zinc (which our diver at home was supposed to have done, but didn’t) – and had him clean the prop of any barnacles.

A replacement gear shift for the cockpit has been ordered and will be here tomorrow am – mechanic can’t do the work, so I’ll do the install.  And just to add to the fun, I just finished rebuilding one of the heads….
