After taking care of some necessary tasks (specifically, receiving the long-awaited UPS delivery of our new “head” and loading it onto the boat – not easy, by the way),
we took the mile-long walk from Vero Beach City Marina to Ocean Drive and discovered Waldo’s – an eclectic beachside restaurant with great views of the Atlantic. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and watched the waves, surfers, and an entertaining parasailer who buzzed by the deck several times.
Back at the boat, the birthday dinner included shrimp (for Doug), salmon cakes, sweet potatoes, and watercress salad accompanied by a special bottle of 2002 Sanford Pinot Noir which had been resting in our wine refrigerator since our California days. Dessert – Key Lime pie, of course. No candles.
