Quite a Storm

The thunderstorms that came through on Saturday night were so strong, the rain pushed this dock right into the water.  We were docked five slips away.  Aside from the storms, the now-broken water supply to our dock, no pump-out, no fuel available,  no swimming pool, we had a great time in Deltaville, with the added surprise of reconnecting with our old cruising buddies, Jane & Dave, Diane & Bob, and Greg & Judy.  Jane and Dave’s boat was hauled out there for repairs after they had an accident at the Gilmerton Bridge.  Greg came with his sailboat, giving them a place to stay – Judy came from their home in Fredericksburg to pick him up.  The next day, Diane and Bob came by car from Atlantic Yacht Basin, where their boat is being repaired after the bridgetender at the Gilmerton Bridge accidentally lowered the bridge while they were passing through.  It was a nice reunion with our friends from our time together in Marathon and No-Name Harbour.  We also enjoyed the company of Rob & Greta from Canada, who were our dock neighbors there as well as in Portsmouth.
