Weather Watching in Tidewater Yacht Basin: we made great time with the bridge openings today (May 11), so we got all the way to Portsmouth and tied up at our dock (F4 – remember this great location for the future) around 4 pm. Not long after that, the bad weather we had anticipated started rolling in, but we didn’t expect to hear tornado sirens going off, our weather radio issuing a tornado warning, and our cell phones sounding alarms. Tonight’s dinner was preempted by getting creature comforts out of the cockpit and stowed, lots of wind, sideways rain, thunder, and lightning. Yes we are still looking forward to some quiet nights at anchor up in Chesapeake Bay.
