Our departure from Stock Island was not an early one, as we were still waiting for winds to subside. We left our dock around 11 a.m., just before the “When and If” came back into port, giving us extra room to maneuver out of our dock. Great timing!
The seas were 3-4 feet, with an occasional 5-foot wave – coming off our port side, it was not an uncomfortable ride to Key West.

On Tuesday we were up early, because I had an appointment to get my hair cut by the stylist I visited four years ago. She moved since then, and the bike ride to her salon was a long one. Despite the workout to get there, I left the salon feeling great, and on we went into downtown Key West to get prescriptions filled. (Interestingly, medication is either free or much cheaper than in NC.)
Moving on from CVS, we came upon the Veterans’ Memorial Park.

Leaving the memorial park, we stopped at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea.

After an hour at the Basilica, we headed back to the boat, stopping for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Onlywood. Still amazing!

That evening, we walked around town and stopped at another favorite place, The Grand Cafe. Still full from lunch, wine and an appetizer sufficed for dinner.
