Stock Island – 2/20 – 2/24

We’ve had a mix of pool days, errand and chore days, and shopping days (via the hotel shuttle bus), along with early evening walks around the marina complex. With all the upscale amenities at Stock Island Marina Village, we were happy to see that Coconut Row is still a colorful part of this village on the water.

Each of the 63 liveaboard slips has its own 10′ x 10′ outdoor living area, with some choosing to use this for garden space.
Shrimp boats across the channel which bring in Doug’s favorite “Key West Pinks.”
Walking from Coconut Row to our dock, we passed through what will soon be a community garden with raised beds.  There is also a henhouse for Guinea hens, which help keep the area free of flying and crawling pests, according to what I’ve read online.
Adjacent to the raised bed area is an orchid house
Around the marina office are some of the larger vessels

Game table and bar area off of the hotel lobby
Behind the scooter (they have these for rent) and mannequins is a lovely clothing and gift boutique
There’s also a distillery. One art studio is open, with more to come.
This pool is just outside the hotel lobby on the water side – we spent time here, too! We’ll continue on to the Galleon Marina in downtown Key West on Monday 2/24.
