On the recommendation of friends Jim and Nancy, we drove into New Paltz to have lunch at Garvan’s Gastropub. Cousins Denise and Chip met us there, driving up from New Jersey – it was just serendipity that Doug booked us at this particular KOA, not realizing how close we were to family we haven’t seen in three years. We had a lovely reunion that was all-too-short. Lunch was fabulous, by the way.

After saying goodbye to De and Chip, we went exploring in search of friend Dick’s childhood home in Marlboro, NY, along the Hudson River. So many hills, apple orchards, and old homes along the way! We were lucky enough to get Dick and Sharon on the phone, so we had a long-distance guided tour of the area.
