We arrived at Crowder State Park (in northern Missouri) on Saturday (6/1) around 4 pm, after a rainy drive. The site we reserved only had electric service, but given the late hour, we were offered one with full hookups (few available at this campground). After getting settled, we drove around this pretty park.

We enjoyed our time here. The staff were friendly and helpful; the facilities, located in a sturdy cinderblock building, were very clean as well as safe, serving double-duty as a tornado shelter. 🙂

Kansas is a beautiful state, with farms everywhere – roadside signs inform newcomers like us that a single farm grows enough food to feed 155 people. There are green fields, golden fields, and lots of cows!
We made an overnight reservation at the KOA in Salina, which turns out to be not all that far away from the former home of our neighbors on Riviera Ct. Small world, once again. We are enjoying getting acquainted with these states where we’ve not traveled before.

Tomorrow (6/3), we’ll be on the road early again, with another overnight stay in Kansas at the KOA in Goodland.
