P.S. and a Correction

I forgot to mention a story from long ago when we visited Yosemite one winter to go cross-country skiing.  We drove up to Badger Pass Ski Area, which is located on the road to Glacier Point.  After skiing for a while, we decided to turn around and go back to the car.  Feeling like we put in a good amount of exercise that day, we were humbled by an “older-looking” couple who shoosh-shooshed right by us on their skis.  When we met up with them at the end of the ski trail, they informed us they were coming from the self-guided overnight trip to Glacier Point Ski Hut (21 miles round-trip), where they had spent the night!

We’re now an “older-looking” couple, and while there’s no way we could make that trip, we’re doing our best.  🙂

Now, a correction to an earlier post.  Doug has informed me that we did, in fact, hike the entire trail to the top of Yosemite Falls. I *thought* we had, because I remember sitting well-away from the cliff edge while watching some totally crazy guy swing from a rope out over the edge of the falls.  Even now, the thought makes my legs weak. Anyway, when writing my post a few days ago, I thought, “There’s no way we could have gone to the top,” but then again, I recall it was an all-day hike, and we were on the last few switchbacks of our descent as it was growing dark.    I should have double-checked.   :-]
