Coronado, San Diego, San Dimas – 7/8-7/14

We had a great week reuniting with friends, some of whom we haven’t seen in 20+ years.

Group shot on Michael and Sandy’s balcony
Michael and Sandy treated us to lunch at this fabulous restaurant.
We walked around town to Star Park Circle, where the statue below was recently dedicated.
These representatives of the League, wives of Navy and Air Force pilots, fought through two presidential administrations to bring their POW husbands home.
Relaxing by the pool
Another excellent lunch
Taking the ferry back to the island

We had a lot of housekeeping chores to tackle before we left Mission Bay Beach Campground.   Our campsite was on sand (not gravel or pavement), and we discovered that thousands (no, millions) of ants had moved into our camper.

We set a lunch date with my long-time (50 years) friend, Joan, who lives in San Diego. Now the babies we arranged play dates for have young adults of their own, and we’re the proud grandparents.   I should add that Joan is just as cute and energetic as she was “way back when.”   🙂

This is our campsite at Bonelli Bluffs RV Park in San Dimas (outside of L.A.).  We have another lunch date set with Kathy, my friend from our Stanford working days, who lives nearby in Pomona.

On Sunday (7/14), we’ll go over to the coast and stay in Ojai for three nights.  We can also report that the ant problem has been eradicated.   🙂
