A short explanation as to why we moved to a dock: (1) winds gusting to over 40 mph this past weekend – there are 225 mooring balls in this marina alone, and we were on #146, quite a way out from shore and very exposed; (2) a battery bank which powers our inverter was not functioning properly – the dockmaster put us in touch with a marine electrician who fixed the problem (including replacement of two batteries which had failed), and one “boat buck” later, things are rewired and all five batteries are fully charged ~~ sigh … We will now be able to spend time at anchor in the Keys with full power for electronics and appliances. |
