We left Brunswick at 7 a.m., very thankful that the fog cleared; otherwise, we’d have to spend another 5 days there due to weather towards the end of the week. Our schedule is complicated by the lack of dockage between here and St. Augustine (in the event of inclement weather). Fernandina Beach Marina won’t reopen until March 2020, after being destroyed by hurricane Matthew.

We hope to get to Blount Island and anchor there tonight, arriving in Camachee Cove Tuesday afternoon before the rainy, windy weather moves in on Wednesday.
Our stay in Brunswick was full of surprises between new marina management, a revitalized town, and cruising buddies Jane & Dave appearing in the laundry lounge yesterday afternoon while we took advantage of the free laundry offered there. We had a delightful dinner with them at Basil Thai Restaurant, which has a nice ambiance, great food, and a high-end wine list. One thing that hasn’t changed in Brunswick is the free beer 24/7 and free wine three days per week at the marina – believe it or not, we did not indulge! 🙂 And, yes, I *will* post about our stay in Savannah – hopefully later today.
I’m worried about you guys….not indulging in free beer and wine…indicates a possible severe lapse in judgement.

I know, I know !! Blame it on the cold weather that’s turned us into cave people. Thanks for keeping track of us.
