Key West – 2/26

More errands to run, and today was “Grocery Shopping” day. We opted to keep it local, bicycling over to Fausto’s Food Palace in downtown Key West. We were not disappointed! The produce was beautiful, the butcher and bakery counters offered gorgeous temptations, and we left with two backpacks filled to capacity.

We spent the afternoon dodging raindrops, though Doug ventured out on his bike to West Marine, then stopped by the pier to see the Disney ship in port.

The early evening was lovely, so we went for a walk to Mallory Square for Sunset Celebration, then stopped at the Sunset Pier to hear the high-energy, loads-of-fun band “Coconut Victrola.”

Back at the boat, dinner was delicious (salmon, broccolini, sweet potato), thanks to Fausto’s. Towards the end of the evening, winds picked up out of the north – gusts will be in the low 30’s overnight. Glad we’re securely tied to a dock. Tomorrow will be sunny, with cooler temperatures – better for walking around town.

  1. You’re just making us miss Key West that much more. Mallory Square at sunset is an incredible experience. Enjoy it all for us too.
