Marathon thru April

We signed up for a month here at Marathon Marina, given the fact that there are many cases of Coronavirus where we are headed (north), and none here thus far in Monroe County, FL.

Precautions are being taken, nonetheless, with group events being cancelled on Stock Island, where we were last week, and encouragement here at Marathon Marina to use facilities onboard over the restrooms onshore, with twice-weekly free pumpouts being provided (for non-boaters reading this, this is a big deal).

We went to Publix today to stock up on a few items, since we plan to anchor as much as possible as we make our way home to New Bern, whenever that may be. As you can see from the photo, the paper products aisle is empty.

As we shelter-in-place, social distance, or elbow-bump our way through this pandemic, may we all remain in good health through it all.

  1. Thanks for the update. You answered all of our concerns and we’re glad you’re somewhere that hasn’t been affected by the virus yet. Miss you.

    1. We miss you, too, and wish we could somehow beam ourselves home. Leaving now could be very risky, since closures could increase and we could find ourselves needing fuel with nowhere to get it. I just read about the Outer Banks closing to tourists – the impact keeps getting closer and more severe. Please stay in your beautiful home and remain healthy. ♥️

  2. Linda got TP at our local Walmart this morning. So restocking has begun. Hopefully it won’t be long before you see the same.
Fuel could be a problem, though, if marinas don’t open as you head north. Locations near commercial fishing will be your best bet, I think.
