Catching Up

Arrived at Chris & Stu’s house in Schaumburg after leaving Crawfordsville, Illinois. We decided to take all surface streets (no Interstates) to avoid as much truck traffic as possible in the Chicago area. The plan worked, although it was not fast. Took about 8 hours to travel about 200 miles.

Another weekly ritual for Whitley is going with Christine to Starbucks for a Pupaccino, and/or a stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for a donut hole. This rescue Beagle surely found a loving home!
Here’s Isaac showing Grandpa how to use the Oculus, which became entertainment for all of us.
We left Schaumburg for 6 days of camping in Door County and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Even though it was the middle of summer, we needed a comforter on the bed at night.
This must be why they call it Green Bay!
We took the ferry over to Washington Island for the afternoon.
The next day we drove around the peninsula, stopping at Egg Harbor for lunch.
Beautiful gardens at the town park.
As we made our way back to our campsite, we stopped by the Sherwood Point Lighthouse at Sturgeon Bay.
Tomorrow (8/3/21) we’ll head up to St. Ignace, MI.
