We left Devil’s Fork and checked into the KOA West Asheville on Thursday, 10/14. We planned a full day for Friday 10/15 in Cherokee, driving back to the campsite via the Blue Ridge Parkway. Since there was so much to see, I will add minimal text to the many pictures that follow, which show a small portion of what we saw. The museum was well attended, and mask mandates were enforced.

Moving ahead to modern-day life, below is artwork from Jeff Edwards.

Leaving the museum, we drove up to Oconaluftee Indian Village, where a guide took us through the outdoor exhibits.

We left Cherokee and found our way to a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway we haven’t seen before, which includes the highest elevation on the Parkway.

All I could say is Wow! Beautiful pictures! You’re really getting to see some beautiful areas!
