Cadillac Mountain, Jordan Pond – 8/16

Our 10 a.m. reservation to drive up Cadillac Mountain put us there ahead of large crowds, so we had a spectacular walk along the Cadillac Summit Loop trail. In winter months, this is the place to see the first sunrise in the U.S.

Looking south at the Cranberry Isles
In the distance, Schoodic Point and the Schoodic Peninsula, the only part of Acadia National Park that is on the mainland.
Bar Harbor and the Porcupine Islands
We opted to skip this trail.
Instead of the Cadillac West Face Trail, we went to lunch at this very cute restaurant with an adjacent brewery.
Going back to the park after lunch, we took the east side of the Jordan Pond Loop.
“The Bubbles” in the distance
Beavers have been busy.
Taking a break along the trail

  1. It is too bad that beaver didn’t realize that tree was a double 😂 I don’t think he/she/it/they/them will be back? ❤️

    1. Yes, and camping is SO much easier than sailing/cruising. Regardless, there’s lots of beauty to see everywhere. 🙂
