Vermont to Ohio

Below are pix from the past 10 days. Yes, I’m behind with this journal, so the text will be limited in this post.

While in Vermont, we spent one day on the Vermont Cheese Trail. So many cheesemakers, so little time!
Plymouth Cheese Corp. was started by the Coolidge family.
After making our purchases, we went on to the next shop.
Guess what?! They were closed. Fortunately, the market next door sold Grafton Cheese.
Some of the distinguished guests of this hotel include Ulysses S. Grant, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Henry David Thoreau, Rudyard Kipling, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and
Ralph Waldo Emerson
We also found some of the covered bridges in the countryside.
And stopped by the Vermont Country Store
Our next stop was the Herkimer KOA and Diamond Mines.
We had a beautiful campsite, though we only spent around 20 minutes enjoying the rippling waters, as a sudden storm came through. A large branch hit the top of our camper, bounced off, and put a hole in our neighbor’s tent.
The following afternoon, we had some luck finding our own diamonds.
Leaving Herkimer, we spent some time with family, many of whom we hadn’t seen in three years.
We also tried out our new kayaks.

We’re now in Thompson, Ohio, for a little over 12 hours, then we’ll stop overnight in Indiana before arriving in Chicago for a long weekend and more family fun.

    1. Right before we left on our trip, though we did spend time beforehand doing some research. They’re inflatable and can easily be carried by two people (or even one).

    2. No damage to our roof, thankfully! We learned afterwards that tornado warnings were given in the area. Just like being on the boat!! πŸ™‚
