We left foggy St. John’s and stopped at Grand Falls-Windsor in Central Newfoundland (their slogan is Perfectly Centered”). Our campground, Sanger Memorial RV Park, sits on a hill above the Exploits River (the longest river in Newfoundland) and has a nice walking trail that takes you to the newly revived riverfront.

June 6, our 42nd anniversary, found us on the trail to Thunder Brook Falls, where Dick and Sharon serenaded us with a “Happy Anniversary to You” song. After our hike, we had lunch at the Juniper Kitchen & Bistro, with non-traditional Newfoundland fare, a nice change from fish & chips.

Thank you for sharing. We are on the opposite end of the country. We are in Miami, Florida. Getting on a cruise ship tomorrow to the A B C Islands…Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao.
Keep enjoying your trip, it looks awesome but too cold 🥶 for me.

Hi Marty and Doug,
Thank you so much for forwarding the pictures and commentary on your trip. The pictures are so interesting and Marty’s comments are greatly appreciated. We always checkout how many layers of clothing you have on outside to determine how cold it is. Is it also usually windy?
Life continues here in New Bern with summer temperatures finally getting to the 80’s. It has been an unusual spring, with cooler than normal temperatures. We rode down to Beaufort today and met Jerry and Marci along with Frank and Sandy for lunch at 34 degrees North. It was a perfect day to be on their deck with temps in the 80’s and no humidity. We can’t remember if we have been to that restaurant with you guys, but it is certainly one of our favorites.
Well, stay warm and safe and have fun.
Love, Nancy and Jim

Thanks for your nice note. Let’s try that restaurant after we return. Yes, it’s still cold here, but we leave tomorrow for Codroy near the ferry, which we take to Nova Scotia on Wednesday. Happy Father’s Day, Jim. M&D
