I was determined to leave my footprints on lower Gros Morne trail (The Approach Trail). It didn’t matter how far we got, I just had to spend time on that mountain. Doug checked the trail map, and we agreed to make the bridge over the waterfall our goal.
My hiking style these days consists of four-letter words: walk, slow, stop, rest, look. It suits me, and I see a lot. And, I eventually get there.Hiking to the top of Gros Morne is not permitted until the second half of June, at the earliest. We could hear rushing waters shortly after starting on the trail. A careful look through the trees showed us why.Along the ascending trail, a young lady passed us – she was jogging up the mountain!I stopped to take in the view.We made it to the bridge!Close up of the fallsIt’s time to head back down the trail.Fellow hikersAs we were on our descent, I stopped to take this picture. Just then, the young lady who passed us on the way up passed us on the way down. 🙂
Wow, what a glorious hike! We so enjoy your posts and are happy you have this opportunity to travel.
