Nova Scotia – 6/30 – 7/2

We spent our last few days in Nova Scotia at Five Islands RV Resort and Campground. After we got our campers set up on Day #1, we drove over to a beautiful farm set high on a hill, with a cheese factory and shop on the premises.

The following day, Dick and Sharon wanted to show us a very special place where they had dinner many years ago, so we went to Tatamagouche for a fabulous noontime experience.

We had a leisurely lunch in the dining car.
After lunch, we walked through the lounge car.

On Day #3, we got an early start for a drive to the Fundy Discovery Site in Truro. The tidal bore schedule showed the arrival of the incoming wave to be at approximately 11 a.m., and we were there early enough to get a riverside seat.

Here it comes
Rounding the sandbar
While that wasn’t exactly a Maverick wave 🙂 , you can see from the stirred-up water and current, which was strong enough to move large tree limbs past us, that the high tide is rapidly coming in.

On the beach at low tide. Our camper is on the far right.
Back at the campsite – it has been a crazy day weather-wise.
There’s a rainbow in the upper left corner.
The skies finally cleared.
It’s a good thing, too, because Canada Day fireworks were planned
(unbeknownst to us).

We’ll say goodbye to Nova Scotia in the morning and move on to New Brunswick.
