Grand Junction, CO – 8/5 – 8/8/24 – Part 1

Our drive from Salt Lake City to Grand Junction was beautiful as soon as we were  south of Provo, UT.  I was busy with co-pilot duties plus taking in the scenery, so I didn’t take any pictures during the drive.   That said, there are plenty below of our day in the Colorado National Monument.

New Mexici is the only state in the Four Corners we didn’t have time to visit on this trip.
Along the entrance road – we will see a 2,000-ft. elevation difference during our drive through the park
Rim Rock Drive
This is the balancing rock.
It’s time to get back to our campsite.  As we drive out of the park, we think about those before us who occupied this incredible terrain.

Tomorrow (8/7), we’ll drive over to Palisade, where peaches and grapes flourish.

  2. Thank you for the tour of this beautiful National Treasure. Whenever Dad had a change of duty station we would take a cross country road trip to different parts of the States. We were fortunate to visit Bryce, Zion, and the Grand Canyon.
