Our timing for all of Thursday could not have been better. We were on the water at 9 a.m. and paddled over to the shore of our campsite and back. Returning to our camper by noon, the rest of the day was a mix of rain, wind, sunshine, then repeat. We had an early dinner, put everything away (kayaks, generator, chairs, grill, etc.), and it started to pour – heavily – all night long.
We were up early on Friday morning, hooked up the camper, and were on the road in search of coffee (remember, we had no electricity for our coffeemaker without the generator). We came upon a combination coffee/antiques shop in Blue Mountain Lake, where we were served lattes to order and homemade pastries. Perfect.
Lake Placid, where we are camped now, is more beautiful than we remember from our visit about 35 years ago. Our campsite is approximately 150 steps from the Ausable River, where we hope to go kayaking tomorrow.

I haven’t been to Lake Placid for at least 50yrs😝 still looks lovely.
Looks like your having a great time…Enjoy

It is breathtakingly beautiful, though the little town is crazy-busy, and it’s not even “season” yet. We saw a nifty looking home for $13M in the real estate window …. XO
