If you’ve been following our blog, you’ve probably noticed the abrupt halt in posts. Life took an interesting twist with Doug’s visit to the ER twelve days ago. He woke up with a droopy face and mouth, which only improved slightly as the day progressed, and after being given poor directions to urgent care, we ended up going to the ER in Saranac Lake. Tests showed no major stroke or Bell’s Palsy, but his potassium was dangerously (one doc) to moderately (another doc) high, most likely due to Lisinopril, Aleve, and Omeprazole he’s taking. (That’s the short story :-).

Now back in New Bern, we’re following up with his doctors here. So far, tests have either come back normal or are at least showing improvement. We hope this mystery is solved soon.
