Saturday was busy x 10 in Franconia Notch State Park, so we drove down to Lincoln and took the Kancamagus Highway for a few miles, then returned to the Basecamp Brewery for an excellent lunch on their outdoor deck.

After some shopping, we drove back up to Franconia Notch and found a parking spot at The Basin lot. Lucky!! Below are pix from this 30’ diameter “pothole” in the Pemigewasset River.

On Sunday we decided against going on a hike, so instead Marty did a little bit of shopping at the Garnet Hill outlet, then we drove over to Bethlehem for lunch at the Rek-Lis Brewery. The menu included: Shrimp Tacos (Doug) and Spinach-Apple salad with sweet curry roasted parsnips and Bayley Hazen Blue Cheese (me), which our delightful server said we might find over at the Littleton Food Co-Op (which we did later in the day).

Pemigewasset is of Eastern Algonquin Native origin, translated as “where side (entering) current is”.
