Day Trip to Dartmouth – 7/7/26

We had lots of rain all night on the 6th and all morning on the 7th. It started to clear around noon, so we got on the road and drove over to see the Dartmouth campus. Luck was in our favor in getting a parking spot, and then as we started walking, the friendliest lady appeared from the information booth at The Green with a map, booklet, and helpful information. She made our afternoon a most pleasant one.

Dartmouth Hall – the first building at Dartmouth, construction began in 1784 (the college was founded in 1769)

An article I read on the Hood Museum prompted us to pay a visit to the campus; unfortunately, I didn’t think to check the hours (closed Tuesday).
Hopkins Center for the Arts (look who’s performing on July 19 – from Greensboro, NC!)
We walked behind the arts buildings and around the block, stopping at the Co-Op on our way to the Hanover Inn

We’d love to spend more time exploring Dartmouth – it would require many more visits to cover the 200-acre main campus!
